VIASURE Tropical Panel Real Time PCR Detection Kit provides maximum flexibility and compatibility with leading open system thermal cyclers.
VIASURE Tropical Panel Real Time PCR Detection Kit (For Research Use Only)
VIASURE Tropical Panel I Real Time PCR Detection Kit is designed for the specific and differentiation of Zika (ZIKV), Dengue (DENV), Chikungunya (CHIKV), West Nile (WNV), Yellow fever (YFV) and/or Mayaro (MYV) viruses in clinical samples from patients with signs and symptoms of Zika, Dengue, Chikungunya, West Nile, Yellow fever and/or Mayaro viruses infection.
This test is intended for use as an aid in the diagnosis of the ZIKV, DENV, CHIKV, WNV, YFV and MAV in combination with clinical and epidemiological risk factors.
RNA is extracted from specimens, amplified using RT-PCR and detected using fluorescent reporter dye probes specific for Zika, Dengue, Chikungunya, West Nile, Yellow fever, and Mayaro viruses.
- Zika, Dengue & Chikungunya Virus
- Yellow Fever
- West Nile
- Mayaro Virus
ZIKV: Zika virus disease is caused by a virus transmitted primarily by Aedes mosquitoes, which bite during the day.
DENV: Dengue is a mosquito-borne viral infection that is common in warm, tropical climates. Infection is caused by any one of four closely related dengue viruses (called serotypes) and these can lead to a wide spectrum of symptoms, including some which are extremely mild (unnoticeable) to those that may require medical intervention and hospitalization.
CHIKV: Chikungunya is a mosquito-borne viral disease that causes fever and severe joint pain.
YFV: Yellow fever is an acute viral haemorrhagic disease transmitted by infected mosquitoes. The “yellow” in the name refers to the jaundice that affects some patients.
WNV: West Nile virus is a mosquito-borne virus that causes disease in humans, horses, and birds.
MAV: Mayaro Virus disease is a mosquito-borne zoonotic pathogen endemic to certain humid forests of tropical South America. Infection with Mayaro virus causes an acute, self-limited dengue-like illness of 3–5 days’ duration.
Neglected Tropical Diseases (NTDs) are a group of parasitic and bacterial diseases that cause substantial illness. Learn more about NTDs at the CDC.
